List Building is the Key to Make Money Online

List Building Secret #1:
Offer an outstanding bonus or gift related to your niche.  It must be something compelling that gives a visitor a real reason to opt-in. You have to give something of value and you have to sell it. Just because it’s available for free doesn’t mean that somebody’s going to opt-in.  Make sure you include copy that gives some real reasons as to why people should be opting-in.

You’ve got to give away high quality value content on the front-end in order to get that E-mail address in exchange. Remember, that is the number one thing you’re looking to do, because if they don’t opt-in you don’t know that they were ever at your website, and you have no way of following up with them. So, your number one goal to make money online is to get them to opt-in.

List Building Secret #2:
Make your content relevant to your subscribers. If somebody’s opting into your list for knitting, for example, if that’s your niche, and then you start sharing information about dogs, unless the information that you’re sharing with them about dogs is how to knit a sweater for their dog, they’re probably not going to be that interested in it.

You want to make sure that when you are communicating with your lists you always provide relevant content to them. Not only will your subscribers enjoy your newsletter, but often it will go more viral when they start sharing it with other people. Because if they’ve found it to be a good resource for a particular niche or industry, it’s very often that they’ll share that with their family, friends or colleagues who are interested that particular niche as well.

Another strategy is to include, on the bottom of your newsletter, something like, “Have you enjoyed this information? Feel free to pass it on to your friends and family.” It can even get to the point of compensating them for that through an affiliate program.

List Building Secret #3:
To maximize opt-ins to your list make sure you increase the amount of subscription boxes on your website.
If you go to www.unleashmymarketing.com, you’ll see exactly what I mean and why this one happens to be one of our top opt-in sites. As soon as you hit the page it has that drop-in opt-in box – you’ll see it when you get there – and as soon as you close that you’ll notice that right in front of you, even if you close it, there’s another opt-in box on the page right in front of you that’s offering another chance for you to enter in your name and E-mail.

Then if you scroll down the page slightly, you’ll see that there’s yet another opt-in box with a big orange “FREE” which is called a “stop command,” and it actually tells somebody to stop. So it says, “Stop and ask yourself where will you be in one week if you don’t subscribe right now?” Then it leads them through why they need to subscribe.

If you look at that one page, it had three opportunities for you to access the newsletter by putting in your first name and your E-mail address. One through the pop-up, and as soon as you close the pop-up there was a box right it which is on the main page, and then as you scroll down about three-quarters of the way down the page – and this is all on the home page keep in mind – there’s another box for you. So, three times on one page which will significantly increase your list by getting more people to opt-in.
